Governors
Welcome from Hannah Stiff, Chair of Governors
I have been a governor at Southwood Infant School for the past 5 years and have recently taken on the role of Chair of Governors. Our school is at the heart of our community and we are proud to make a difference to our pupils and their families; past, present and future.
The governing body is strong and supportive with a clear strategic vision. Together with our dedicated leadership team and staff, we believe that every child should be given every opportunity to achieve their very best. At Southwood we want all our children to have the confidence and enthusiasm to become lifelong learners. We strive to do this by generating a warm and caring atmosphere in which children can flourish and achieve their full potential. The school values of Excellence, Respect and Enjoyment underpin everything we do and the staff and pupils are living embodiment of these values.
We are extremely proud of the outcome of our recent Ofsted visit. The report is a testament to the hard work and commitment of all the staff, leadership team and governors. The school continues to be self reflective and outward looking ensuring that it moves forward with vision and clarity to provide the best environment for pupils and staff alike.
School governors play a key role in raising school standards and monitoring performance. We contribute to important decisions covering issues such as policy making, site management, the school’s budget and the curriculum. If you have the enthusiasm and desire to make a difference and time to give to the role and to the school, perhaps you would like to join us?
You will find details of our Governors below. If you would like to contact us, please phone the school office on 01252 375 420. Copies of the Full Governing Body minutes are available on request.
